Strategic Planning/Urban Policy 

  • Kilkenny Transit Village Master Plan (in conjunction with Geof Bone and Tectvs)

Urban design study and scoping for potential development of a Transit Oriented Development within the suburb of Kilkenny. The master planning for the site took into consideration the land use, urban design, public transport integration, traffic implications and architectural design. Creating a 'neighbourhood destination' and 'vibrant community' with a balance of mixed land uses (high density residential, retail, commercial and open space) was central to the development of the master plan. 

  • National Transport Policy - Integrated Passenger Transport and Land Use Planning, Australia Transport Council - 2009 (jointly with Geoff Anson Consulting)

On behalf of the Australian Transport Council, the project required the development of nationally applicable, practical and accepted guidelines that will assist agencies and the Commonwealth in the integration of land use and passenger transport into the emerging national transport planning model. The guidelines will underpin investment processes at all levels of Government across Australia.

  • Southern Area Growth Strategy,  City of Onkaparinga - 2008 (jointly with URPS)

Analysis of potential growth pattern in the Council area, with consideration to urban form, population expansion, land use and social and environmental impacts. The project necessitated the development of population scenarios and assessment of triple bottom line criteria, including requirements for services and infrastructure. The process was praised by Council and Professor Peter Newman as a robust 'due diligence' process for assessing  growth areas.

  • Integrated transport and land use planning, national review of all state AusLink Corridors: jointly with Geoff Anson Consulting for DoTARS, Canberra, 2006

The project focused on how best to achieve practical outcomes for Australia's national transport corridors that will ensure long-term national, state and local objectives for nationally important corridors. The project combined analysis of current frameworks, arrangements and mechanisms with implementation practices and how organisations actually respond to situations.

Infrastructure Planning

All state and local government authorities (managed by the Australian Local Government Association) required the development of National Freight Access Guidelines that consolidates existing best practice and creates guidelines on the management of access by freight vehicles onto local road networks, anddissemination to and acceptance of the guidelines by local government and other impacted groups throughout Australia and New Zealand.

  • Bakewell Bridge Redevelopment Project - Economic & Network Analysis of Staging Options, 2006

Required to provide network and economic analysis of staging options for the Bakewell Bridge Redevelopment Project during the construction phase, as part of an Urban Development and Value Capture process supporting a master-planning process, whilst supporting the objectives of the State Government’s Strategic Plan.

Transport Planning 

  • Northern Territory Integrated Regional Transport Strategy (in conjunction with Geoff Anson Consulting and GHD)

The Integrated Regional Transport Strategy is currently being developed by InfraPlan, Geoff Anson Consulting and GHD on behalf of the Northern Territory Government. The strategy will provide options for reliable transport services across all regions of the Northern Territory and will contribute to developing greater education, health and social outcomes and enhancing business and tourism opportunities. Part of the Strategy will be to deliver a 10-year service delivery plan that will target the specific needs and requirements of each of the 5 Regions in the Northern Territory.

  •  DC Mount Barker - Transport Master Plan 2028 - current

Development of transport master plan to cater for the current and future needs of all modes of transport for the District. The project required public consultation, stakeholder facilitation, development and implementation of a transport model, formulation of strategies and actions and network scenario options, as well as documentation.

The project initially required Traffic Management Plan advice for the 2200 dwelling development in conjunction with the master planning process. Detailed road design, intersection treatment and traffic analysis were also undertaken or project managed by InfraPlan.

  • Onkaparinga Transport Strategic and Action Plan - City of Onkaparinga - 2008

The project required the development of strategies and actions to direct and influence the transport future of the Council.  Project requirements included consultation, GIS analysis, documentation and delivery of objectives and principles.

Demographic Analysis

  • DTEI Metropolitan Transport Model (MASTEM), Demographic Analysis, 2007/8.

Development of a series of population, employment, industrial supply and education enrolment assumptions and data analysis to input into MASTEM (Metropolitan Adelaide Strategic Transport Evaluation Model) for the development of state infrastructure.

Triple Bottom Line / Economic Analysis

  • Economic Analysis of the Secondary benefits of the Northern Expressway - DTEI 2007

The project required an economic and triple bottom line analysis of the secondary (higher order) benefits that will accrue to the Northern Expressway as a result of its alignment. The analysis focused on the economic, social and environmental benefits of the new alignment and any associated future options with regard to the configuration of expressway interchanges and accessibility improvement.

  • Affordable Housing Unit, Department of Families and Communities, 2007.

Advice on several significant affordable urban renewal areas to illustrate potential constraints and opportunities of redevelopment. Implementation of a multi-criteria assessment, land use planning, economic, environmental and social analysis to implement redevelopment suitability.

  • City Tram Extension  - urban regeneration/ value capture analysis and advice, Department of Transport Energy and Infrastructure, 2006.

An urban regeneration and property impact analysis as part of a wider study to investigate the benefits, costs and impacts of further investment into light rail in Adelaide.

  • Infrastructure Australia, 2008

Development of a business case including economic analysis for key infrastructure as a submission for infrastructure Australia. Projects include King Street Bridge and Bald Hills Road interchange Mt Barker.

Sustainability

  • Adelaide Futures Project, Metropolitan Local Government Group, Local Government Association, 2007 (InfraPlan Lead Consultant)

Representation of all 18 Metropolitan Adelaide Councils through interviewing and collaboration of all Mayor's and CEO's. The project incorporated the identification of the most pressing issues facing Adelaide over the next 20 years and the development of issue papers and potential solutions.  The papers on the future of Adelaide covered the themes of Water Resources, The Economy, Transport and Urban Development.

  • 2009, DTEI. Developed Operational Greenhouse Gas Footprint Model for Northern Connector.
This model was developed based on Uni SA emission and speed algorithims and National 2009 Greenhouse Accounts (NGA) Factors.

  • 2009-2-10, DTEI. Developed Operational Greenhouse Gas Footprint Model for South Road Superway.

Completion of Stage 1. Identifying climate change adaptation strategies to inform wetland and floodplain management along the River Murray.  Study to identify aquatic ecosystem-dependant species along the River Murray in SA that are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

  • Current, DTEI. Analysis of Northern Expressway Supply Chain.


Analysis of the Northern Expressway Construction and Procurement Supply Chain to quantify employment, energy and material outcomes. This project will provide analysis that can be transferable to other similar infrastructure investments.
